iPad & Tablet Diagnosis
Use this diagnosis service when your iPad or tablet has a fault that is not clear enough to book a specific repair. It is designed for problems such as no power, intermittent charging, boot loops, touch faults, audio issues, camera faults, keyboard or accessory issues, and devices that have been dropped or previously repaired.
We assess iPads and other tablets near Liverpool Street Station in London. Walk-in drop-off and UK mail-in are available. If the issue is clearly caused by liquid exposure, use iPad & Tablet Water Damage Diagnosis instead.
When to choose diagnosis
Choose diagnosis when the symptom does not point to one obvious part, or when more than one fault may be involved.
- The tablet will not power on or only shows a logo before restarting
- Charging is intermittent, slow, or only works with some cables
- The screen lights up but touch does not respond correctly
- The battery drains quickly but the charging port may also be faulty
- Sound, microphone, camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, buttons, or sensors are not working
- The fault appeared after a drop, pressure damage, or previous repair
- You are unsure whether to book a screen, battery, charging port, or board-level assessment
What this service includes
- Visual inspection of the device, housing, display, charging port, and obvious signs of damage
- Charging and power checks using known-good cables and power equipment
- Functional testing of the screen, touch, cameras, speakers, microphones, buttons, and wireless features where the device powers on
- Internal inspection where needed and where the device can be opened safely
- Fault confirmation where possible, with a clear repair recommendation
- A repair quote before any further paid work is carried out
What is not included
- Repair parts or replacement components are not included in the diagnosis fee
- The diagnosis fee is not automatically deducted from a later repair quote
- Data recovery is not included as standard, although we will advise if data recovery appears to be the main issue
- Liquid damage inspection is handled through the separate water damage diagnosis service
- Diagnosis does not guarantee that a repair will be possible or economical
Diagnosis turnaround
Standard iPad and tablet diagnosis is usually completed within 1-2 working days once we have the device. Complex faults, intermittent issues, previous repair damage, or parts availability checks may take longer. We will update you before carrying out any further paid repair work.
Data and privacy
We do not factory reset your device as part of a normal hardware diagnosis. If a software restore, reset, or data-sensitive step is ever required, we will discuss it with you first. We still recommend backing up your tablet before any repair visit whenever the device is working well enough to do so.

- Assessment: we inspect and test the tablet, then confirm the likely repair route.
- Quote: if a repair is possible, we send a quote before proceeding.
- Collect or return: collect from our London workshop or choose tracked return postage for mail-in devices.
Before you book
- If the tablet has been exposed to liquid, book the water damage diagnosis instead
- If the screen is cracked but the display and touch still work, a screen repair product may be more suitable
- If the device is bent, swollen, or unsafe to charge, do not keep using it
- If the tablet still powers on, back it up before visiting or posting it to us

Does the diagnosis fee include the repair?

Should I choose normal diagnosis or water damage diagnosis?
Choose normal diagnosis when the fault is unclear but there has been no liquid exposure. Choose water damage diagnosis if the tablet has been exposed to liquid, moisture, steam, rain or a spill.
Can I use this service by post?
Yes. You can use the UK mail-in option, include details of the fault, and choose return postage during the checkout flow. We will assess the device and contact you with the next step.
