The MacBook Air 13-inch A1304 is one of the original ultra-thin MacBook Air designs, built with a 40Wh battery and a Core 2 Duo processor. At over fifteen years old, the original battery in any A1304 is essentially certain to need replacement. These machines remain surprisingly capable for light document work, web browsing and email. Signs your MacBook Air 13" A1304 battery may need replacing
At this age, the original A1304 battery has gone through far more charge cycles than Apple designed it for. Capacity is typically well below 50 per cent of the original 40Wh, and in many cases the machine will only run reliably when plugged in.

The A1304 uses a MagSafe 1 connector. This is the original MagSafe design with a slightly different shape from MagSafe 2. The model identifier A1304 is on the underside of the machine and in Apple Menu > About This Mac.

- If the chassis is bent or the machine has been previously opened, we will advise on any complications before starting
- If there has been liquid exposure, a battery replacement may not resolve all issues. We confirm our findings before proceeding
- If the screen is lifting slightly from the chassis, book as soon as possible. This can indicate a swollen battery that needs urgent attention
