MacBook Diagnostic & Fault Finding - No Power or Liquid Damage
MacBook Diagnostic & Fault Finding
Not sure what’s wrong with your MacBook? Our diagnostic service confirms the fault first, then we recommend the most sensible repair option and provide a clear quote before any chargeable work proceeds.
- Typical turnaround: 1–3 working days (parts availability dependent)
- Best for: no power, liquid exposure, charging faults, random shutdowns, unclear symptoms
- Location/mail-in: near Liverpool Street Station + UK-wide mail-in

When to choose diagnosis
- MacBook won’t power on (no signs of life)
- Liquid spill or suspected corrosion
- Charging is intermittent or not working
- Random restarts, shutdowns, or instability
- Ports not detecting accessories
- Overheating or unexpected fan behaviour
- Black screen where the cause is unclear
- Multiple symptoms at the same time
What happens next
Once the MacBook arrives, we confirm the fault and explain your options clearly. If a repair is recommended, we provide a quote for approval before proceeding.
What’s included
- Initial inspection and fault isolation
- Functional checks relevant to the symptoms (power, charging, ports, display behaviour, input devices)
- Plain-English explanation of what failed
- A clear recommendation and quote before any repair is started
Process
- Book online and choose walk-in or mail-in.
- We diagnose the fault and share the recommended fix and quote.
- You approve (or decline) before any repair proceeds.
Before you book
- Liquid damage: if liquid damage is found and, as a result, a booked repair is not economically viable to proceed, an assessment fee of £50 may apply (we confirm this with you before applying any fee).
- Data: we do not wipe data as standard, but we recommend a backup where possible.
- Unclear issues: diagnosis prevents unnecessary parts orders and avoids guesswork.
Why Square Repair?
- Clear quote before you commit to a repair
- Central London drop-off near Liverpool Street
- UK-wide mail-in available
- Transparent updates if we find additional faults
- Practical advice to avoid overspending
