How to fix camera on an iPhone if it freezes?
If you have noticed your camera freezing too often, or even consistently each time you launch the app, try these quick fixes:
1. Close all of your apps running in the background
Sometimes, our mobile devices have a hard time multitasking when it gets a little too much to carry. Try closing out all of your apps to see if your phone can focus on getting the camera to work.
To view all the apps running in the background, double-click on your home button, or swipe the bottom of your screen upwards. This will show you a row of running apps. Simply swipe them up to close.
2. Restart your phone
This may sound obvious, but it’s a classic quick fix for a reason! Reset your iPhone by turning your phone off and waiting 30 seconds before turning it back on.
3. Update your software
Sometimes apps cannot perform at their optimal state when they are running on an outdated operating system. You can update your software by going to settings > General > Software Update.
How to fix camera on an iPhone if it shows a black screen?
The first thing you should do if your iPhone camera is showing a black screen while the app is open, is to check if anything is blocking the lens. It may seem silly, but it happens more often than you think!
If that wasn’t the issue, try these methods:
1. Close and restart your camera
By force quitting the app and launching it again, you give its system a fresh start by clearing out the data it has built up.
2. Switch between your front and rear camera
By repeatedly switching between the front and rear-facing camera, you are forcing the camera app issue to reload. The quick reload helps get all the settings in order to function properly.
3. Check if your voiceover is turned on
The VoiceOver can sometimes cause glitches with other apps, most commonly with the Camera. Ensure that it is off by going to Settings then Accessibility, select VoiceOver and finally, toggle it off.
4. Restart your phone
If the above methods didn’t fix it, it could need a simple restarting to get things back into place.
5. Update your software
Sometimes the Camera has difficulty performing when running on an outdated operating system. You can update your software by going to settings > General > Software Update.
