iPod Classic HDD Replacement

Replace a faulty mechanical hard drive after confirming the model, drive connector and housing fit. HDD replacement and flash conversion are different services; flash limits must not be applied to a like-for-like mechanical drive.

Confirm your model

Match the original model or part code using our identification guide. Appearance, a replacement case and current storage are not proof of the original model. A1238 alone does not distinguish Classic generations. If details are missing or disagree, choose diagnosis and model confirmation before ordering.

Replacement HDDs are reclaimed, not newly manufactured. We confirm the correct drive, capacity, condition, availability and fitting time before proceeding.

Your data

Replacement storage is supplied empty. Back up your library before booking and sync it again from your computer afterwards. Recovery or transfer from the old drive is not included; a failed drive may not be recoverable.

We confirm the exact model, required parts and fitting time before arranging the work. Delivery time and fitting time are separate.

Warranty

The selected repair carries a 12-month warranty. An optional replacement battery has a separate six-month warranty. Accidental and liquid damage are excluded.

How do I confirm compatibility?

Is this a flash upgrade?

No. This service replaces a mechanical hard drive. Replacement HDDs are reclaimed. We confirm the correct drive, connector, capacity, condition and housing fit before proceeding. The 128GB limit described for some flash conversions is not a blanket limit on the original mechanical drive.

What happens to my music?
