Check before choosing storage

Use the original model code below. Appearance and current capacity are clues, not proof. If the code is missing, the case has changed, or the details disagree, use model confirmation.

Repairs and upgrades for this generation

Flash storage upgrade

Replace the mechanical drive with flash storage. Confirm your exact model in the booking guide before selecting a capacity.

We match the conversion to your exact model. Our 1TB build has been workshop-tested; availability and timing are confirmed separately.

Check compatible storage and prices

Battery replacement

Our standard replacement batteries are labelled 3.7V / 850mAh rechargeable lithium-polymer. We use thin-case and thick-case versions to suit the device. The difference is physical fit; the thicker version does not promise extra capacity or longer runtime.

Interested in a larger battery? Ask us about battery upgrades alongside your flash-storage conversion. Options depend on your iPod and the space available inside. A replacement back cover may be required; some existing thick cases may have enough room. We’ll confirm compatibility, capacity and price before proceeding. A larger battery or replacement back cover is not included in the standard battery service.

Interested in Rockbox and larger storage?

Rockbox is alternative software for supported iPods. With a compatible storage conversion, it can allow some models to use more storage than Apple’s original software permits. Installing Rockbox alone does not add storage. These combinations need separate compatibility and setup checks; our standard upgrade choices use Apple’s original software.

On restricted models, returning to Apple software with a larger storage setup can cause data loss. Ask us before ordering a capacity outside the standard choices. Rockbox installation is not included in this booking.

Which iPod do you have?

Start with the front of your iPod. These reference photos narrow down the family; they do not confirm the generation. Replacement cases and previous upgrades can change its appearance.

It switches on: help me find the code

Open Settings → About and look for a model or part code beginning MA, MB, MC, PA, PB or PC. Depending on the software, your computer’s iPod information may also show it. The example is an illustration, not a result for your device.

Match the code on the generation page or in the booking choices. A number such as A1238 on the back is shared by several Classic versions and is not enough on its own.

It will not switch on, has been modified, or I am unsure

Do not guess from the current storage or replacement back cover. Bring or send the iPod for diagnosis and model confirmation before buying a storage upgrade. Photos of the front, back and any readable model details can help us narrow it down; some devices need an internal check.
